The load torque of the DC gear motor has a direct relationship with the speed and current, much like the intricate mechanical relationships within Mining Heavy Duty Gearboxes. The speed decreases linearly with the increase of the load, and the current increases linearly. The total reduction ratio of the gearbox, similar to those in Standard Industrial Gearboxes, is generally in the range of 1:10 to 1:500. When selecting specifications, try to work near the point of maximum efficiency to achieve the desired performance, working life and stability of the characteristics, just as one would optimize the performance of Machine tool power gearboxes.
Generally, the DC gear motor is used in the same environment as the micro DC motor. If there are special needs, such as ambient temperature, overload conditions, current limit, etc., it must be explained in advance, especially when considering applications similar to those of Power Plant Conveying Gearboxes which often operate under specific environmental and load conditions. The gearbox consists of a multi-stage gear pair. Each stage includes a pair of intermeshing gear pairs consisting of a chip gear and a pinion. The working life of a gearbox generally exceeds the working life of a DC motor, typically up to 1000 to 3000 hours.
Specially designed to achieve 1:1000 or more, but the gearbox with a large reduction ratio is not allowed to "reverse", that is, the output shaft of the gearbox cannot be used as the drive shaft forcibly reversed, similar to the operational limitations in some Metallurgical rolling mill gearboxes.
Due to the limitation of the gear strength, when the total transmission is large, the gear motor may not be able to withstand the stall torque, and the load torque at this time cannot exceed the maximum allowable short-duration load torque. The first pinion is mounted on the output shaft of the motor. The bearings used in the output shaft of the gearbox are usually oil-impregnated bearings made of copper or ferrous material.
