Recently, the Third Wind Power Operation and Maintenance Conference, themed ‘New Situation, New Technology, New Value’, was held in Beijing.

No-open-box replacement programme for bearings in the air

The conference awarded the 2024 ‘Polaris Cup’ Wind Power Influential Enterprises Award, in which NGC won the ‘Excellent Case of Wind Power Influential Technical Improvement’ with the ‘Medium-speed Motor Side Bearing Replacement Programme without Opening in the Air’.

By using the special tooling for bearing replacement without opening the box , the programme has successfully eliminated the use of cranes and the operation of opening the box, and effectively solved the problems of high cost, long cycle and great influence on customers that existed in the traditional programme of tower maintenance after the failure of the medium-speed motor-side bearing of the 2MW gear box.

Innovative ‘code-sweeping service’

During the conference, Mr Liu Zhaohui, Senior Specialist of Wind Power Aftermarket Division of SCG, made an in-depth explanation of the rapid response required for the operation and maintenance of wind power gearboxes, and introduced the innovative ‘code scanning service’ to the participants. By scanning the QR code, users can clearly check the power, speed, oil quantity and other parameters of the gearbox, and also realise online fault reporting. This service greatly improves the operation and maintenance efficiency of wind power gearboxes.
