What is a gearbox and what does it do?

Gearbox is an important mechanical transmission device that is widely used in several fields. The following are some of the main applications of gearboxes:

1. Wind power generation: In wind turbines, gearboxes are used to transfer the power generated by the wind turbine under the action of the wind to the generator and to bring it up to the corresponding rotational speed. Since the speed of the wind turbine is usually low, the gearbox achieves this through a speed-increasing action, hence the name speed-increasing box.
